Ciao amici,
I hope that everyone had a nice Christmas!
The end of the year is always a good time to look back at our accomplishments and examine where we want to grow.
As 2025 comes to an end, I’m not only looking back at this year, but at the past five years in my role as a leader in Italian language and culture. While the language itself never changes, I have learned to lean in to my students’ learning styles and intuitively adapt the delivery of my knowledge, creating true “ah-ha” moments.
Versatility is not only shown in the teaching content I present, but also in who I teach. A few examples of who I teach:
- Small groups who have been taking my classes for nearly 10 years with original lesson plans every week.
- A university student who studies languages and really drills into the nuts and bolts of grammar.
- A 75-year-old woman who will be traveling to Italy for her daughter’s wedding and wants to be able to communicate her medical conditions in Italian.
- Wine professionals seeking to deepen their relationships with suppliers in Italy and position themselves for career advancement.
- People who simply love speaking in Italian about their everyday lives and want to stay connected with Italy.
This time of reflection has made me appreciate what makes Immerse Italy different from other language schools in New York: I have first-hand experience of how learning Italian is both rewarding and challenging. I will meet you where you’re at to help you connect with Italy in the way that is most meaningful to you.
If learning Italian is on your bucket list or if you’ve been meaning to dust off those old grammar books, 2026 is the time to do it! Schedule a discovery call to take your first linguistic steps toward Italy.
Buon anno!
Lisa
