Meet Lisa

Italian Language and Wine Educator

Ciao! I moved to Florence in the early 2000s as an art student and quickly fell in love with Italy. I felt an intuitive connection and refused to return to Ohio. After 3 semesters as a study abroad student, I transferred to The American University of Rome where I completed a BA in Italian Studies.

I then moved back to Florence where I completed a Masters Degree in Women and Minority Studies from the University of Florence. Still hungry to learn (and eat) more about Italy, I completed a second Masters in Italian Studies at NYU La Pietra. During this time I worked in bars and restaurants, explored Central Italy, became interested in wine and mastered Italian.

I moved to NYC in 2015 with the ambition of starting my own Italian school so I could stay connected with Italy while bringing my expertise to Italian-American, wine lovers and Italophiles on our side of the Atlantic.

My hobbies include Japanese archery, running marathons and baking.
