Italian is for Art Lovers

Ciao amici!
I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend.
A few nights ago, I went to see an opera. Being able to listen to the singing while also understanding the Italian lyrics reminded me of how much more pleasure knowing Italian brings to appreciating the arts.
Art, architecture, theater and music are full of Italian vocabulary, and this is no coincidence: the Italian language was first written by Dante in Florence, then centuries later, Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance. Reading plaques around a museum, you’ll run into impasto, fresco, chiaroscuro and contrapposto – just to name a few Italian art terms.
Yes, studying Italian requires verb charts and grammar but your hard work will be rewarded with a closer connection to centuries of artistic masterpieces. Focus on what you love about Italian art with private language lessons or I will organize a small group seminar on Italian art for your coworkers, friends or family.
Un abbraccio,
Lisa
