Expressing Gratitude in Italian

ree

Ciao amici,

Buon Giorno di Ringraziamento!

This week, I'm counting all of the things I'm grateful about Italy: the food, wine, art, history, culture, the list goes on and on. I'm particularly thankful for the years of hard work put into mastering the Italian language so I can teach it to you.

What about Italy are you thankful for?

You probably already know that grazie means "thanks" but remember that it’s a 3-syllable word: grah-zee-ay. The Italian language is full of vowels, and they pronounce each and every one of them!

Here is a list of thankful vocabulary to share with you friends and family:

  • Thanks: Grazie

  • Thanks a lot: Grazie mille

  • To give thanks: Ringraziare

  • Thankfulness: Gratitudine

  • Thankfully: con gratitudine

  • Thank you (speaking to one person): Ti ringrazio

  • Thank you (speaking to multiple people): Vi ringrazio

Buona festa e buon appetito!

Vi ringrazio,

Lisa
