Carissimi Amici,
It’s 2022 and time to have fun learning Italian! The internet and bookstores are full of courses promising “Italian made easy” but I’ll be up front with you and tell you that there is no such thing. Italian is truly a difficult language to learn, but my classes make trudging through the grammatical mire fun and fascinating. And what makes my perspective as a teacher even more valuable is that I’ve been there! I spent my first two years in Italy constantly trying new words, memorizing grammar charts, learning slang – and I was wrong a lot at first. Inherent to my language classes are also lessons on speaking as a foreigner with confidence, cheerfulness, and politeness.
No matter what fluency level you reach, my classes will give you access to understanding Italian culture from North to South. It takes a while to become fully fluent in Italian if you aren’t living there, while you are on your journey, let me teach you l’arte di cavarsela (the art of getting by) and learn Italian with a sense of humor!
It’s a new year and a new Italian you. I know a new language can be hard to jump into, especially if you can’t tell how far you’ll get – but join me for a free beginner’s level Italian class on Wednesday, January 26th at 7:00pm via Zoom for a mini-escape to Italy. I’ll teach you handy Italian basics to get you started, save for later, or refresh your memory.

Un abbraccio,
